Descriptions for our clubs are listed below. Each club is run over a period of days or weeks, and most include 10-20 hours of total instructional time. You can enroll your child in a club on our Registration page.
Children will learn the basics of animation, including topics such as:
- Stopframe animation
Students will learn basic programming concepts such as:
- Repetition (Loops)
- Conditional Logic
We will use both online and offline methods to teach the concepts, so children won’t spend the whole time poking away at a computer.
Let’s play some games! Gamer Club will allow children to explore the world of gaming, including computer, console, card, board, and just about any other kind of game they can imagine. Plus we’ll use those imaginations to design our own games. Depending on the length of the club your child attends, he or she will have the choice of creating one or all of the following:
- Active game
- Card game
- Board game
- Computer game
Does your kid love to tinker? This club is all about tech-influenced DIY and crafting. We’ll explore topics such as:
- 3D Design and Printing
- Simple Machines
- Building Simple Computers
- Wearable Technology
Kids will “make” some cool stuff that they can take home.
Are your kids talking non-stop about creepers, mooshrooms, and The Enderman? Is Steve their new BFF? Minecraft is a great way for kids to get creative and work collaboratively. We’ll not only play on a local server, but kids will run quests and play offline games to earn blocks to build a “real world” map.
Learn how to make a web site. Children will choose a topic, and then go through the process of planning and building a web site to tell the world about it. They will learn how to:
- Create a site outline and map
- Safely research a topic using online sources
- Use HTML to create a web site
- Edit and add images to a web site
- Upload a web site to the Internet
