Minecraft Club – Fall 2017

Does your child love Minecraft? Drop him or her off for our weekly, 90-minute, fun, and educational Minecraft sessions! Each month we offer a themed unit in Minecraft. The kids will explore, build, and play, while they learn a bit of history, language arts, geography, science, math, and more. Previous themes include:

  • Famous Landmarks
  • 3D Printing
  • Space Exploration
  • Habitats
  • Winter

The only pre-requisite is a desire to play Minecraft! We do use the PC version of Minecraft for this class, so kids should have some familiarity with that, or a willingness to learn. This club is for kids in K through 7.

Minecraft Club meets on Mondays, 6-7:30pm, September 11-December 18, for a total of 15 weeks.

Topics for Fall 2017

This list is subject to change.

  • September – Space Exploration
  • October – Scary Stories
  • November – Dinosaurs and Dragons
  • December – Winter

You can sign up for the entire series, or if space is available, register for a single session. Each week is pretty standalone, so your child can join in at any time!

Individual, weekly, drop-in sessions are $18 per week, and will only be available starting on the Friday before a session, if we aren’t already full with full-series kids. Please register in advance. This club often sells out in advance, and we might not have any space for walk-ins.

Friday Gamer Club – Fall 2017

Join us on Friday nights, for gaming with friends, pizza, and more. We have:

  • Windows Laptops
  • Kindles
  • XBox 360
  • Board Games
  • Card Games

Plus we’ll open the crafting room to anybody who might want to make some fuse bead art or paper crafts.

All equipment will be first-come, first-served, and kids will be asked to rotate after 20-30 minutes if others are waiting for specific equipment. Children who absolutely must use specific equipment should plan to bring their own. Everyone else has to share!

This club is geared towards children ages 5-12. Older kids (up to 14) are welcome, too, if they don’t mind hanging out with the younger kids.

Please note: We will have pizza and drinks for this club. If your child doesn’t like pizza, or has any allergies or dietary restrictions that might prevent them from enjoying what we provide, please be sure to bring something for your child to enjoy.

School is Out Mini-Camp – Fall 2017

Schools are closed for the day, and by popular demand, we will be open! We don’t have a set schedule of lessons for these mini-camps, and will choose activities based on the interests of the kids who attend. Some activities we have done in the past include:

  • Play Minecraft and other games on the computers and tablets
  • Enjoy a rousing game of Monopoly, Uno, Life, or one of the many other board and card games we have available
  • Experiment with STEM toys, like Snap Circuits, littleBits, Dash & Dot, and more
  • Watch music videos and have a dance party

This camp is appropriate for kids in grades K through 8.

Important: Camp is held from 9am-4pm each day. We will add before (8-9am, $10) and/or after (4-6pm, $20) care if we have enough requests for it, so please let us know in the order notes if you need it. Food is not provided at camps, so please make sure your child has lunch, snacks, and drinks for the day.
